Availability?
We need to work around your availability, be it school, college or work.  I will always be as flexible as possible to accommodate you.

Can I start my lesson from school, college or my workplace?
Yes, as long as it’s in the area I cover, fits with the lesson schedule for the day and you let me know in advance.

What do I need to do before I start my lessons?
You need to be 17 years old and have received your provisional driving license.  You can apply online here, or by completing form D1 available from the Post Office.

You also need to ensure that you can read a standard UK number plate made after September 2001 on a parked vehicle at a distance of 20 metres (with glasses or contact lenses if required).

When can I apply for my provisional licence?
You can apply for your provisional car licence up to 2 months before your 17th birthday.

How long is my theory test valid for?
It’s valid for 2 years.  You will need to take your practical within this time.

Can I start my lessons before I’ve passed my theory test?
Yes, in fact, I believe that it’s better that you combine theory and practical training.  This ensures that you will improve your understanding, thus increasing your ability to pass your theory test.

How long will it take for me to pass my test?
In truth, there’s no stock answer to this question. It will, of course, depend on a mix of factors, but, it is generally quoted that the UK average is 47 hours of driving lessons and 20 hours of private practice.
